Doctor-musician, KNii Lante has tapped blooming hiplife singer Fameye for his new record, which he christens “Yawa Dey.”
Produced by DatBeatGod, the song rues perennial hardships that many a young man is faced with “Yawa dey o , boyz I know you know say yawa dey/ Steady on our grind oo/ But we no have am easy,” opens Knii Lante in a silky delivery in verse one. By the time he completes his verse, however, Lante assumes a more hopeful dispensation, resolving to “Buy ride for my mama/ I-Fon for my lover/ Build house for my fada/ Like say yawa no dey oo.”
If his biggest songs are anything to go by, the themes that “Yawa Dey” caters to are right up Fameye’s alley. When he takes up the baton, Fameye discusses the risk of losing a lover because he is not financially stable. “A dey find how I go fit to pay Cos if I lose guard obi di k) ee,” he worries.
“Yawa Dey” follows “Mi Naa Bo Po,” a Ga love song that arrived a month ago. “Yawa Dey” is published on Deluge Entertainment, and adds to the singer born Nii Okunka Blankson’s glowing catalogue that commenced in 1999.
