Compered by broadcaster Kwame Sefa- Kayi, the COVID-19 Virtual Concert announcing the launch of an app to expedite contact tracing of persons with the virus has successfully been held.

It was held under the auspices of Ghana’s Communications ministry, and broadcasted online and across local television platforms.

Co-headlined by Shatta Wale and Kuami Eugene, the concert also featured performances by Fancy Gadam, Great Ampong, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Dada KD among others.

The programme also served as a platform to reecho personal hygiene protocols like washing hands thoroughly with soap and water under running water for twenty seconds, the use of hand sanitizers, abstinence from face touching, and the observance of social distancing in the wake of the novel corona pandemic.

As of April 11, 566 persons had tested positive for COVID-19. Out of this number, 4 have fully recovered, 552 have been categorised as mild disease on treatment, two as moderate to severe, and 8 have perished.
