The latest single off Black Love, Sarkodie’s forthcoming 2019 album, sees the rapper tap UK stars Donae’O and Idris Elba.
Christened “Party and Bullshit,” the record is a clear nod to the catchphrase American hip-hop star Biggie Smalls popularized in 1993.
The dance song is published jointly by Universal, Sarkcess Music, and Moving Anti. It arrives as Sarkodie’s fourth single after “Lucky,” “Do You,” and “Saara,” and is a thematic outlier, for unlike the first three, it caters strictly to the dancefloor, and not love.
Elba, a famed actor, DJ, and rapper, and Donae’O (best known for his 2010 megahit “Party Hard”) are the latest in a sterling list of guest features that also consists Rude Boy, Mr. Eazi, and Efya. While Elba’s appearance on the song marks his first collaboration with the celebrated Ghanaian rapper and second with a Ghanaian act, Donae’O simply celebrates a return to the booth with Sarkodie, having partnered on previous joints as the “Party Hard” remix, “Big Ben,” and “Chalice.”
