Lady Prempeh the ‘Odo Yi Wohe’ hitmaker who has been releasing singles and not albums for the past couple of yours, is set to put out an album in September 2020.
After four albums, Esther Abena Nyakoa Prempeh, popularly known as Lady Prempeh, marked in reentry into the scene Aseda in November 2018 followed by Mefre Yesu, collaboration with 2019 VGMA Highlife artiste of the year, Kuami Eugene in June 2019.
Since the releases of four (4) singles, fans of Lady Prempeh have been calling for the artistes to put out an album. One fan tweeted, “My sister, you have been away for like 4 years, you better come back with album.” Another tweeted, “The song with Kuami Eugene is tight, but where is the album?”
Dennis Oppong, Road Manager for Lady Prempeh responded in an interview on Max TV in Accra, “The music industry has changed. Radio promo has been replaced by social media, CDs have been replaced by streams and because of that, albums have been replaced by singles. Lady loves making albums but single releases is the new wave.”
Mr. Oppong added that Lady Prempeh is however poised for a September 2020 release of her 5th studio album. She will mark the release with a launch concert.
