Ghana’s Shatta Wale has been awarded for Best Video and Afrobeat Artist of the Year at the 2019 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
The laurel adds to a growing stack which has seen him earn IRAWMA laurels since 2014. He’s been awarded laurels for Best New Entertainer (2014), Best Song (2016) and an Honorary Award in 2018.
Earlier this year, the Kakai singer picked up a staggering 8 awards at the 3Music Awards.
A top-tier name for the better part of the last 10 years, Shatta Wale ( born Charles Nii Armah Mensah) is head honcho of the Shatta Movement, a label which is home to rapper Joint 77, Addi Self, and Captan.
He is up for multiple awards at the forthcoming Ghana Music Awards, including Artist of the Decade.
