Bolt, a Leading European on-demand Transportation Platform, formerly known as Taxify, has disclosed plans of extending its operations to other regions of the country.
This change projects the brand identity in line with the company’s broader vision of transportation that has already been expanded from ride-hailing with cars and motorbikes, to scooter sharing.
Speaking on the change of name, during a media briefing in Accra last Thursday, Operations Expert, Albert Aryee, said his outfit, as part of its future plans, was to expand to other cities of the country.
He pointed out that the company had made conscious effort at getting more drivers, and introducing additional routes to increase customer convenience when riding Bolt.
This, tied to other exciting partnerships and offers for both riders and drivers, would improve on the operations of the company.
He said, the then “Taxify” was launched five years ago with a mission to make urban transportation more convenient and affordable, as a result their first product was a taxi dispatch solution that gave the company its original name.
Mr Aryee noted that their brand values had not changed even though the name has changed, adding that they were committed to providing, safe, affordable and reliable rides for patrons.
According to him drivers of Bolt could get a supplementary income and earn up to GH₵1,000 a week.
“Our Shell Fuel partnership enables drivers spend less on fuel and have more in their pockets. Our commission rate is at 15 per cent and drivers are rewarded with bonuses weekly,” he said.
The Estonian-born tech company has evolved since its inception to now serve 25 million customers in over 30 countries globally, making it a leader in Europe and Africa.
Bolt previously, Taxify, was launched in Ghana in 2017 and currently operates in Accra only.
