Veteran broadcaster Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has been announced by managers of Accra-based Starr 103.5 FM as new co-host of their drive-belt programme, the Starr Drive.

This follows the exit of former superintendent of the show, Giovani Caleb. Darko will partner Berla Mundi on the show, which was in August 2016, which was yielded by CEO of the organisation, Bola Ray.

The mild reshuffle also sees Jon Germain of the Drop Off man KOD’s former mid-morning show, The Zone.

An announcement for the new host of The Drop Off is expected to be made soon.

Giovani’s resignation is one of a number of high-profile exits from the company. Months ago, newscaster Kweku Obeng Adjei also left the company in what many describe as a shock move.

Starr FM is owned by media group EIB Network, which also runs LIVE FM, Kasapa FM, GHOne TV and Agoo TV (all in Accra); Ultimate FM and Abusua FM (in Kumasi); Empire FM and Radio 360 (in Takoradi), Agoo FM (in Nkawkaw) and the Daily Heritage Newspaper (also in Accra).

The company is also getting ready to launch its digital group, EIB Digital, to amalgamate its current online offerings.
