Watch Asihene-made accompanying visuals to rapper Edem’s recent single, “Toto,” which courted widespread controversy upon its release because of the connotations listeners unfamiliar with the dialect he rendered the song in, attached to it.

While the word translates as “female genitalia” in Ga, it suggests diligent hardwork in the Ewe sub-dilect he sung in. The video, published under Edem’s VRMG label, typifies that, showing at various points, a passionate Edem reiterate the value of the “hustle,” and the fruits thereof.

“Toto ” is produced by Mr. Lekk, and arrives ahead of the rapper’s forthcoming TIA (The African Answer) album, due this year.

Edem’s other offerings lately include “Fokoloyor,” “Mighty Jesus,” “Hurricane,” “Father” among others.
