Veteran actors David Dontoh and Edinam Atatsi, as well as the burgeoning Destiny Sokpor star in “Akosua,” a Timi Pudie film scheduled to premiere in Accra November 24.

A powerful story, the film follows a mother’s quest for long lost harmony in her family, particularly with her kids. The enterprise is not as straightforward as she had imagined as “everyone came with ghosts from their past.”

“After many years of loneliness in a loveless marriage to a philandering husband, Akosua decides to extend an Olive branch to her estranged children; Akoma and Kweku Danso, who both left home over fifteen years prior,” reads the official synopsis.

“…but they [the children] come with loads of secrets from their past along with grand kids that are meeting each other for the first time…but moments after they all gather, everything gets further complicated when a baby is left at the gate with a note that simply reads: ‘hello Kweku, here is your son.’”

As father, son and grandson all bear the same first name, the real mystery is finding out the actual father of the child.

Widely anticipated, the movie also features  Martey Emmanuel Martins, Emanuel Owusu, and Ewuraamah Nyamewaa. The premiere kicks off at the Zenith University College Auditorium at 7 pm prompt. It will be preceded by a red carpet session at 5:30 pm.

“Akosua,” the movie, is a DASPAI (Das Professional Acting Institute) production in collaboration with Marvelous and Ecclesia production houses.
