Deputy Chief Executive of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre – Masloc, Maame Afia Akoto on Friday donated items worth over GHS40,000 and cash to the Korle-Bu Maternity Ward ahead of her 40th birthday.
As part of her corporate social responsibility, Maame Afia Akoto who is known for her philanthropic works, paid the bills of Forty (40) nursing mothers who were detained at the Korle-Bu maternity ward for their inability to pay their medical bills, after they had given birth and also paid the bill for a 6-year-old who has a hole in his spine who is scheduled to undergo surgery.
Maame Afia Akoto also donated 40 hampers, comprising of tins of Lactogen milk, 40 sets of diapers and baby wipes, cartons of Lactogen milk and 48 sets of Pampers to the maternity ward to cater for abandoned babies.
This is the not the first time Maame Afia Akoto is extending a helping hand to the needy.She celebrated her 39th birthday last year at the Borstal Institute and showed love to the inmates by donating items worth thousands of cedis.
Personalities who accompanied Maame Afia Akoto include, NPP General Secretary , John Boadu, Mr.Akoto, Deputy CEO Masloc, Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah, Writer and Author Rev.Dr.Ralph Antwi and the General Manager for Angel TV, Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah.
