The 2018 Ghana Entertainment Awards event came off Saturday, June 30, at the Schomburg Centre in Harlem, New York. The second edition, it saw funny man, Derick Kobina Bonney (DKB) retain his crown as Comedian of the Year.

Accepting the award, DKB expressed elation and gratitude to his support base: “it is the second year in a row I am winning this award. I am very happy that my hard work is paying off. I am also proud of the growth comedy has seen these past few years. I would also like to thank everyone who voted for me especially my fan base.”

Other winners on the night include Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Willis Beatz, King Promise, Wutah, Ebony, Joyce Blessing among others.

The scheme look to recognize artists, industry professionals, and other stakeholders who have demonstrated excellence and significant accomplishments in their fields in the year under review.

DKB, who is set to stage the return of Accra’s Comedy Express show this Friday 6th July at Eddy’s Pizza- Osu, has promised an exceptional show in the company of his colleagues. His Comedy Express show airs on JoyPrime.
