A highly -anticipated concert scheduled to take place tonight (June 30) at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, has been called off following an accident involving music fans part of a welcome party on their way to meet headliners Fancy Gadam and Nigeria’s Patoranking yesterday.
The crash, reportedly caused by a collision of a vehicle conveying fans with an oncoming one, has also claimed the lives of two Zylofon employees, as confirmed by Zylofon Cash spokesperson, Halifax Ansah-Addo. A dozen others, injured from the accident, have been sent to the hospital.
Via his Facebook page, Gadam —born Mujahid Ahmed Bello— mourned the loss of his fans, announcing the indefinite postponement of the concert (which was expected to see over 17, 000 fans attending) indefinitely.
A renowned performer, Gadam is 2018 winner of Ghana Music Awards’ Most Popular Song of the Year laurel, off the exploits of his Sarkodie collaboration, ” Total Cheat”.
