Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of ZYLOFON Media, has appealed to supporters of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to stay calm despite abundant rumours about the BHIM Nation frontman’s possible exit from his music imprint.
This comes barely nine months after Stonebwoy (born Livingstone Etsey Satekla) signed with the label. Stonebwoy’s decision to leave the label is believed to have been provoked by a number of issues, the last straw being arch-rival Shatta Wale’s signing on to the label, and constantly throwing digs his way.
But via social media minutes ago, the Zylofon boss has called for calm amidst this storm: “I urge all well-wishers of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Zylofon Media to remain very calm. Whatever differences, as with all human institutions, would be resolved in the most civilised and decorous fashion. Ghana shall prosper”, he posted.
In past weeks, Stonebwoy and ZYLOFON have unfollowed each other on social media. Before Stonebwoy mounted a stage at the University of Ghana last night, all Zylofon-branded materials were brought down, further stoking these rumours. Later that evening, an entourage led by Zylofon exec Bulldog( Laurence Nana Asiamah Hanson,) reportedly attempted to seize Stonebwoy’s Mercedes Benz at the Champs Bar in a violent clash resulting in Stonebwoy firing warning shots.
