Organisers of the annual Vodafone-sponsored Ghana Music Awards, are unveiling nominees for this year’s event. Fans, musicians, and other stakeholders are observing keenly to see who makes the cut, and as usual, bombastic news is anticipated.

For one thing, dancehall icon Shatta Wale, who has been banned from the event in recent years, makes a grand return. His song “Ayoo”, has been named alongside tunes from Fancy Gadam, Sarkodie, Patapaa, Captain Planet, and Nacee for the Hiplife Song of the Year category.

While he faces significant competition in that category, he is  the clear favourite. Other songs from him are also expected to be nominated in other categories.
