DStv serves up special love package this FEBRUARY!

With February being the month of love, DStv is here to ensure that you continue your secret love affair by indulging on your favourite guilty viewing pleasures. From Dad’s secretly favourite reality show binges, to Mom’s suspicious and curious love affair with crime; and what’s with the kids’ obsession with music videos? DStv will serve it all up for you this whole month!

Some of the content to look forward to includes the season premiere of the multi-award-winning sitcom The Big Bang Theory on Valentine’s Day at 5pm on M-Net, when Amy is expected to finally give Sheldon an answer to his proposal.

BET is having Black Love Month this February on Saturdays and Sundays at 6pm, with movies all about hook-ups, break-ups, make-ups and ultimately love everlasting (hopefully)! There’s 35 & Ticking on 3 & A Weekend with the Family on 4 February, Mr. Right on 10 & My first Love on 11 February, Where’s the Love on 17 & Love and Other 4 Letter Words on 18 February Closing off the love chapter is Angela Bassett’s Golden Globe-winning performance of legendary Tina Turner on What’s Love Got to do With It on 24 & Boy Bye on 25 February.

There’s a real-life Royal love story unfolding…and it’s only befitting that DStv shares it with customers in this month of love. Prince Harry and Meghan: Truly, Madly, Deeply airs on iTV Choice on Thursday 15 February at 6pm. The documentary charts the history of Prince Harry and Megan Markel after their engagement, their romance and asks: Who is this woman that the fifth in line to the British throne wants to marry? Tune in!

E! Entertainment is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a ‘…putting a ring on it’ theme from 7am to 7:50pm. The channel will bring you a whole day of wedding-themed programming, from romantic engagements and venue hunting to beautiful weddings. It will feature proposals from Total Bellas, WAGS Miami and Keeping Up with The Kardashians.

Another reality show about love is on the way on Lifetime, Questions of Love from 23 February at 6pm. This bold new relationship format examines what happens to three different couples when they decide to take a major step in their relationship: moving in together for the first time.

Also discover the sinister side of love on IDx’s ‘Love Hurts’-themed programming from 7 February at 7:05pm.  Kiss Of Death tells the true, heart-stopping stories of love turned deadly; Married With Secrets looks at what happens when ‘happily-ever-after’ goes horribly wrong, while Love Kills tells the sordid tale of lovers who vow to be together in sickness, health and murder.

Trace Urban has crooners Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith to serenade you on Focus while Trace Africa will have put together just the right playlist to set the tone for your love-filled Valentine’s weekend.

2018 Golden Movie Africa Awards slated for Movenpick, June 2

The 4th annual Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) has been announced for June 2, 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

Put together to highlight the efforts of deserving film makers across the continent, the ceremony is expected to draw top names in Africa’s music industry, in what is already a hugely anticipated event.

An event announcing nominees for the scheme this year is slated for Cote d’Ivoire on May 20.

Brainchild of NMJ Ghana and partners, the GMAA assembles professionals in the film industry, honouring shining stars who are telling authentic African stories, and reshaping her image via their works.

Showbiz heavyweights for 2017 Ghana’s Most Influential crown

Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Ebony, Amakye Dede and Sarkodie are among top showbiz  names who look to be crowned Ghana’s Most Influential Personality of 2017. The nomination list which was released in April 6, had some entertainment personalities like

Ghana’s Most Influential (GMI) Awards is a unique initiative powered by e.TV Ghana. Over the years, the GMI list has consisted of people from both formal and informal sectors, ranging from entrepreneurs, politicians, musicians, sports personalities, religious leaders and several others

However, voting is currently ongoing to shortlist the 147 personalities who got nominated and arrive at 100 personalities (in no particular order) for the board and audits to sit and asses the list. The voting process comes after the general public nominated numerous individuals in Ghana to be part of this great initiative. Voting for the 7th Edition of Ghana’s Most Influential ends on May 10, 2018.

Voting Opens for 7th Annual Ghana’s Most Influential Awards [+ full list of nominees]

Voting for the much-anticipated Ghana’s Most influential (GMI) Awards has been opened, organizers have said.

Ghana’s Most Influential (GMI) Awards is a unique initiative powered by e.TV Ghana. Over the years, the GMI list has consisted of people from both formal and informal sectors, ranging from entrepreneurs, politicians, musicians, sports personalities, religious leaders and several others.

According to organizers, the voting process comes after the general public nominated numerous individuals in Ghana to be part of this great initiative. This period will allow the general public to vote for individuals -whose names had earlier been submitted- who they think influenced them positively in 2017.

Speaking on the GMI voting process, Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance Group, Mr. Ernest Boateng urged the general public to get involved and vote for individuals who are performing excellently in their fields and positively impacting society from all parts of the country.

“The anticipation for this years’ GMI is extremely high and it means that the voting process is going to be very competitive. Voting for the 7th Edition of Ghana’s Most Influential of the starts on April 10 and ends on May 10, 2018,” Mr. Boateng stated.
