Singer Efya headlined the female- only “Girl Talk Concert” for a final time yesterday, December 27 at the National Theatre in Accra.
An emotional experience, it saw the beloved chanteuse rendered a truly memorable performance to an enthralled audience which also included mum and veteran broadcaster Nana Adjoa Awindor of Greetings from Abroad fame, former Deputy Tourism Minister Abla Gomashie, actresses Lydia Forson and Yvonne Nelson, highlife singer Becca, MzVee and a host of others
Widely- loved for her powerful voice and energetic stagecraft, Efya hands over the baton after taking over from Becca three years ago.
Supporting acts on the night included Captain Planet of 4×4, Sarkodie, Adomaa, King Promise, KiDi, Wutah, Tagoe Sisters among others.
Born Jane Efya Awindor, the chanteuse has maintained her grip on the accolade of one of Ghana’s premier female vocalists since bursting unto the scene as one half of duo Irene and Jane in 2008, being awarded GMA Best Female Vocal Performance of the Year an unprecedented four times in a row. Her long-awaited debut album Janesis, which was launched April 22, 2013. She’s also author of the T.I.N.T mixtape.
