As usual, a tall list of A- list Ghanaian and international acts joined rap icon Sarkodie for his Christmas day concert dubbed Rapperholic.
The programme, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, got off to a late start, and crowds were held up outside the auditorium due to ticketing challenges, but once it commenced properly at around 11 pm, it progressed smoothly.
Compered by friend and dancehall singer Charles Nii Armah Mensah (Shatta Wale), the event was graced by industry colleagues and celebrity friends including EIB Network CEO Bola Ray, ZYLOFON boss Nana Appiah Mensah, Black Stars’ skipper Asamoah Gyan, global viral sensation Michael Dapaah (Big Shaq) among others.
The fifth year running, the show came off on Monday, December 25, and witnessed groundbreaking performances from the likes of Kwesi Arthur, Article Wan, Jayso, Worlasi, King Promise, A.I, Captain Planet, Obrafour, ENO, Feli Nuna, Freda Rhymes, Efya, Becca, Korede Bello, Samini, Epixode, Joey B, Kurl Songx, Kwaw Kese, Magnom, B4bonah, R2Bees, Akwaboah Jnr., Teephlow, Adina, Strongman, and Yung L.
A multiple-award-winner, Sarkodie recently released his fifth album “Highest”, which follows Makye (2009), Rapperholic (2012), Sarkology (2014), and Mary (2015). Consisting 18 songs, it features collaborations with both local and international heavyweights as Big Narstie, Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Moelogo (UK), Spoken Word act Suli Breaks (UK), Korede Bello (Nigeria), Praiz (Nigeria), Yung L (Nigeria), Jesse Jagz (Nigeria), Flavour (Nigeria) and Bobii Lewis (UK).
The 2017 Rapperholic concert is a joint collaboration between Sarkodie’s SarkCess Music, and A Team Productions.
