Empire act EBOO (Andrew Joel Adisi) was among top acts to perform at the grand finale of this year’s Miss Malaika Ghana beauty pageant, which was won by Pearl Nyarko. Put together by Charterhouse Ghana, the event came off over the weekend at the National Theatre, Accra.
Also witnessing performances from Kidi, King Promise, Adina and Ebony, the show was given a special touch of nostalgia with EBOO’s set.
Once, Twice Dreams, and NOW A Life so Good, so ‘Nagga’ – Eboo, THE COMEBACK
Emerging onstage amidst rousing applause from the thousands gathered (including Sarkodie and partner Tracy, John Dumelo, Becca and a host of other prominent celebrities), the prolific Afrobeats/ Dancehall act gave an iconic rendering of his 2006 masterpiece Once/Twice, a tune which was sung along to from beginning to end.
While that song may have brought EBOO to prominence, it is merely one joint off his extensive catalogue. He can also be remembered for “Honey”, featuring rapper FlowKing Stone.
Announcing a bold return to active music earlier this year, EBOO is set to release a 21-track album titled Good Life. The album is led with brilliant singles as Colour of Love, Nonstop, and Bad Girl.
Accompanying visuals to Bad Girl (directed by Big OJ Films) were released days ago to rave reviews. Watch below:
