Ga rapper Gasmilla has defended his choice for female managers all through his career.

In an exclusive interview with Doctor Cann on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra,  the popular rapper/ singer  traced his success with female managers all the way to the very first one: “my former manager believed in my talent so much that,  I knew she could do the work, but she had school and other things  that prevented her from doing the work”.

Author of several dance-ready anthems including  ‘Telemo’, Gasmilla further explained that his new manager, Raby Brew has a lot of charisma.

“If I say charisma, I mean when she puts her mind on something she does it well. She actually makes it work. She is into corporate business and has never managed any artist before –this is her first time in the music industry,” he added.

He also explained the reason for widespread reports of artists parting ways with their managers after brief stints: “the moment you make the artist feel like he or she doesn’t need you as a manager, it doesn’t matter, whether you are a male or a female…you are gone! This is  because, the artist has to feel that he or she need someone  to get to the next  level, not to pull him or her back.”

Born Odartei Milla Lamptey, Gasmilla’s big break came with such hits as “Aboodatoi” and “Telemo“. He is signed to Fisherman Records.
