Anniversary celebrations are very important in the lives of people and it becomes very important when it has to do with important people in society like celebrities and showbiz people. And that is exactly what multiple award-winning artiste Rebecca Akosua Acheampong aka Becca signed on to Zylofon Media intends to do at the National Theatre on Saturday 21st October 2017. Becca intends to celebrate her special day after going through the hustle and bustle of this industry for a decade with a high level of relevance and tenacity.

To make the celebration a worthwhile experience with all the razzmatazz that is to be expected, Becca with a pool of experience in the music business across Africa and the world over has assembled over 10 artistes across Africa for a coronation concert to mark the 10 years anniversary dubbed Becca @ 10. A tall list including some top musicians who would like to make a surprise appearance on the night is what revellers should expect on 21st October at the national theatre. Remember your favourite artiste is part of the surprise appearances so don’t be left out when the countdown begins.  Knowing the stature of the artists on the lineup, one can imagine the preparation of the celebrant Becca to make sure she stays at the top of affairs when the reviews start after the show.

Yes, some events and concerts line up big names for performances but a line up consisting of Nigerian top acts M.I, MR Eazi, Ice Prince, DJ Spinall and Niniola should alert one that this musical showdown will be a masterpiece and one to remember. From Ghana, event goers will be enjoying back to back music and eclectic performances from notable performers like Kwabena Kwabena, M.anifest, Trigmatic, VVIP, Akwaboah, Kwame Eugene, MzVee, Kidi,  not forgetting her label mates Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, Stonebwoy and Obibini.

Becca is known internationally as one of the best live performers in the music industry in Africa and on such a day, one can rest assured that she will be making a mark that has never been done before in her music life. If preparations and rehearsals are anything to go by, then Becca music lovers are in for their monies worth.  Tickets are already out for sale as all the artists are preparing feverishly for the performance of their lifetime. Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation to Fete Beneficiaries

The Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation (CAMF) established in memory of the mother of the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour is to fete youngsters in the Juaso area as part of its activities for the Christmas holidays.

According to Obour, CAMF will undertake a series of clean up exercises in Juaso and Obogu on December 24 and 25 and climax with the Christmas party for the youngsters. In addition to providing the youngsters with entertainment and refreshing them, they will also receive sanitary products from the Foundation to promote their personal hygiene. Some of the items to be presented include personal hygiene products like toothbrushes, toothpastes, deodorants and soap. Meanwhile the Foundation has begun processing application forms from applicants for support for their education.

Speaking at the launch of the Foundation, the Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku applauded Obour and his siblings on such a bold initiative to both honor the memory of their late mother while contributing to the socio-economic development of the community. He assured the Foundation of the support of the agency in their operations.

The Asante Akyem South MP Lawyer Asante Boateng on his part commended Obour and his siblings on the establishment of the Foundation and assured them of his support to realize their aspirations.

The Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation will provide scholarships to successful applicants to pursue courses at various levels of their education. CAMF will support brilliant students who are financially handicapped especially the girl child from the deprived rural communities of Juaso and adjoining communities through the provision of scholarships at the tertiary level. The Foundation is also to promote sanitation and personal hygiene as critical pillars to health, survival, and development in the Asante Akyem area.

According to Obour, the decision to establish the foundation is due to his mum’s selflessness and strong, unshakable conviction in education as a lifeline to poverty eradication. He says, knowing the value of education, his mother endured enormous sacrifices to educate him and his siblings. He added that the foundation is also to celebrate the unwavering and strong leadership qualities of Christiana Addo as a role model for all women especially single mothers.

The Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation was set up with the vision to become an organization that impacts lives and helps transform and bring sustainable development to the Asante Akyem Area especially the South, Central and North Districts of the Asante Akyem rural area.

Richard Addisson Foundation Marks Ten Years Of Successive Growth [+images]

The RICHARD ADDISSON FOUNDATION (TRAF) a non-governmental youth philanthropy is marking 10 years of giving assistance to the less privileged in Ghanaian communities.

TRAF was founded by Richard Addison, the CEO of Kent Investment, a multi-layered firm that currently holds investments in the fields of Agriculture (Kent Farms), haulage services (ARE Haulage Services), an IT/information system and management company (K.SIS) and recently acquired major stake in a Digital Graphics and Advertising company  (Beyound Graphics).

The foundation which was set up to put smiles on the faces of the very poor, needy and under privileged across the country is marking the decade of doing good with the launch of an after school programme in collaboration with Matic Foundation run by Award winning Hiplife act Trigmatic.

The After Work Programme which will be cordinated by Trigmatic, Teachers in the chosen communities benefiting from the programme and leaders of TRAF will focus on Maths and Science, Sex Education and First Aid.

The Richard Addison Foundation (TRAF), now focuses on projects ranging from farming, provision of water and renovation of schools for deprived communities.

Manifest, Efya perform @ Stella Artois launch in Ghana

Accra Breweries Limited (ABL) has added ‘Stella Artois’, the second oldest beer in the world, to its stable of the product as a new brand of beer in the country.

The Head of Marketing at the ABL, Ewurafua Addo-Atuah, said ‘Stella’ is here to satisfy lovers of exotic beers.

Miss Addo-Atuah after the launch of ‘Stella Artois’ at Bistro 22, Labone, on Saturday.

According to her, “That one peculiar thing about ‘Stella’ [Artois] is its dedication to people who are interested in leaving a mark. There’s a space for any kind of beer in people’s consumption repertoire but for us at ABL, we want to make sure there’s a beer at each level of the category that suits people’s pallets.

“Sometimes one may be in need of a mainstream beer like Club, but if you’d want something more premium on a different occasion, we do have Stella [Artois] in our portfolio for you.”

The launch saw a number of dignitaries from the food and beverages and music and film industries, and other arts and culture-related fields. 

One of such personalities was Chris Attoh, the actor who emceed the event with Joselyn Dumas for the night.

Attoh also spoke to the paper. He stated that “This is a big deal for Ghana and beer lovers because aside South Africa, Ghana is the next country to launch the beer in Africa. With only 5% alcohol content, the Stella Artois rich and historical brand is built on the better life initiative and seeks to acknowledge people leaving a legacy.”

Songstress Efya and Manifest thrilled attendants on the night with riveting live music. They both performed with the Patch Bay Band.

Starr FM’s Osei Owusu Amankwaah marries college sweetheart – SEE IMAGES!

An 8-year romance that began in journalism school finally came to fruition over the weekend for Starr FM journalist Osei Owusu Amankwaah and Maabena Dohu Mensah of the Multimedia Group.

The colourful  wedding ceremony came off at the Church Of Pentecost (Tema  Comm. 1 Assembly), and was attended by colleagues in the media fraternity including Joy FM’s Komla Adom, respected deejay Andy Dosty, Jerry Justice, Kweku Obeng Adjei, Francis Abban, Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman of GH One among others.

In a symbolic act honouring the genesis of their story, the couple, radiant in red, cream, and white, made a triumphant return to the Ghana Institute of Journalism for a special photoshoot which has since gone viral across social media.

Amankwaah and Maabena’s story has been met with endless goodwill messages, and been described by friends and well-wishers as a true fairytale that is one more proof that love stories still exist.

Presidential Grand Ball Board Meets Minister

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Honorable Catherine Abelema Afeku has expressed her ministry’s full support for the upcoming Presidential Grand Ball organized by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to be held on Friday, December 29 at the State House Banquet Hall.

The Minister gave the assurance when a delegation from the board of the Presidential Grand Ball paid her a courtesy call to brief her on the event. Honorable Afeku assured the board that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would be present at the Grand Ball. Honorable Afeku commended the Union for their work with the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and the board for the decision to celebrate five Music Heroes at this year’s event.

The five Music Heroes to be honored this year are highlife musicians A.B Crentsil, J.A Adofo, C.K Mann, Nana Kwame Ampadu I and former chairman of the National Commission on Culture Ebo Hawkson.

The 2nd vice chairman of the Grand Ball Board Kwame Sefa-Kayi thanked the Minister for the warm reception accorded the board members and assured her of the firm resolve of the board to ensure that the Presidential Grand Ball provides the necessary support for AMWeF. Other members of the board present were the 1st vice chairperson of the board, Mrs Pearl Esua-Mensah, C.E.O of Media General Group, operators of TV3, 3FM and Onua FM; Prophet Agyeman-Prempeh, Founder and Head Pastor of the SOJ Ministries and MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour.

The Presidential Grand Ball is an initiative of MUSIGA and it began in 2013 as an event to bring together captains of industry and leaders of society under the auspices of the sitting President of Ghana.

As part of this year’s event, a number of individuals and institutions will be honored with the Music Pillar Award for their meritorious contribution to the development of the music industry in Ghana. They are the former Chairman of the National Commission on Culture, Ebo Hawkson; C.E.O of Eurocar Rentals Oscar Doe and C.E.O of Charterhouse, Mrs Theresa Ayoade. The former C.E.O of the Forestry Commission, Samuel Afari-Dartey who is the outgoing chairman of the Grand Ball Board will also receive an award for his work with the board.

Ahead of the festive season, multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper and CEO of Black Avenue Muzik Desmond Blackmore also known as D-Black has announced the maiden edition of the BAM Festival and the D-Black Hunger & Thirst Mixtape release concert.

First of its kind, the day long BAM Festival will consist of a number of exciting activities including fun games at the poolside of Oasis Pool & Shisha Lounge from midday till the musical and mixtape launch concert kicks off at 8pm with performances from D-Black, DJ Breezy, Wisa Greid, Nina Ricchie, Kobla Jnr, Sefa Dahlin, Gage, Osayo with special guest performances from Stonebwoy, R2Bees, Bisa Kdei, Medikal, King Promise, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Efya, VVIP, Jupitar, and several others.

Known for throwing some of the wildest parties and hosting the biggest celebrities in city, venue for the BAM Festival and Hunger & Thirst Mixtape release concert will be no different from the forecourt of the Club Onyx located in Cantonments, Accra behind the Police Headquarters and next to Rockstone’s Office.
