“There’s a raging fire in Madina!”, Ghanaian hiphop act M.anifest tweeted at about 7:20pm Saturday evening as a ball of fire swallowed up the night sky of Atomic Junction, a suburb of Accra.
The explosion, which the rapper likened to an “orange sky”, has reportedly claimed 6 lives and left several dozens injured/ displaced. The “Nowhere Cool’ rapper disclosed that he had to evacuate his residence, fearing for his life, but is thankfully safe.
It remains unclear what triggered the fire. The explosion occurred at the MANSCO gas station at Atomic Junction, and caught an adjacent fuel station.
