The race to find High School’s Most Beautiful ended over the weekend as Ms. Esmeralda Nana Efua Griffin took home the ultimate crown. The pageant, which was held at the Aviation Social Centre, saw a keenly contested exercise between various contenders.

“King of GH Comedy” Derick Robina Bonney (DKB) was special guest at the pageant and was honored with the prestigious award of Icon of Year.

“I am very humbled to receive this award. I really cherish this award, not because it names me as the Icon of the Year, but simply because I got it from you. I thank the organizers of the show for presenting this award and I would also say a big thank you to all of you for choosing me as your Icon of the year”, DKB submitted about receiving the award.

He further said “It is an amazing feeling to finally know that the  hard work being put into the comedy industry is being noticed by our little brothers and sisters in the second cycle level. This only tells me one thing; GH comedy has a very bright future because the next generation have accepted it,” he said

DKB gained international fame as one of the celebrity housemates on Big Brother Africa (2012). He’s also convener of the hilarious monthly series Comedy Express, and was recently announced brand ambassador for the Boardroom Men’s Grooming Centre in Accra.
