Days ago, gospel maestro Yaw Sarpong celebrated a staggering 4 decades in the music industry.
The glamorous ceremony, held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, also marked the launch of the ‘Yaw Sarpong Prison Project’, which aims at mobilising relief items for inmates of correctional facilities across the country.
Hosted by veteran broadcaster Kwame Sefa Kayi, it was also graced by several high profile friends of the musician, and also witnessed awe-inspiring performances from acts as the Tagoe Sisters, Akese Brempong, and the Asomafo Band, which Yaw Sarpong leads.
Signed to Doxa Elation, the Wo Haw Ne Sen singer releases his 26th album this year, and is popular for a long list of inspirational tunes including Biribiara Nye Den Mma No’, Oko Yi, Awurade Na Aye, Joseph, Bo Mpae, Pentecost, etc.
