Rocky Dawuni announces US & Canada Summer Dates

Ghanaian music star, Rocky Dawuni, will be playing a string of US Summer dates starting on August 6 at the brand new Levitt Pavilion Denver  in Colorado. Rocky and the band will continue to Dartmouth, New Hampshire for their “Summer Concert Series” at the Hopkins Center for the Arts on August 9. From there they will perform at the super hip Arts Riot is Burlington, Vermont on August 10 before proceeding to headline the esteemed Festival des Traditions Du Monde Sherbrooke in Canada on August 11.  The tour also includes public and private dates and will culminate at the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena on August 26 in Pasadena, California.

Rocky is currently working on his highly anticipated 7th album which will be the follow up to his GRAMMY nominated “Branches of the Same Tree.” (Cumbancha)  The new album is slated for release in 2018 and features incredible growth in his signature “Afro Roots”sound as well as very special collaborations with guest artists.

Rocky spent the first part of the year touring East Africa putting in amazing performances at some of the continents most celebrated festivals including Sauti za Busara in Zanzibar, HIFA in Zimbabwe and Soysambu Festival in Kenya. In between touring and recording, Rocky has also been focusing on his activism work. On June 5, he joined the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau alongside musician / activist / surfer Jack Johnson in Toronto for World Environmental Day in association with the Government of Canada and UN Environment. Later that month, Rocky was featured on two panels as a speaker at the prestigious Cannes International Festival of Creativity2017 in France in association with the UN Foundation, the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and McCann WorldGroup.


GRAMMY nominated musician and activist, Rocky Dawuni, straddles the boundaries between Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. to create his appealing Afro Roots sound that unites generations and cultures. A galvanizing performer, Dawuni has shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Jack Johnson, Bono, Jason Mraz, Janelle Monae and John Legend, among many others. Named one of Africa’s Top 10 global stars by CNN, he has showcased his talent at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and The Hollywood Bowl. Influenced by the soulful beats of Fela Kuti and the positive messages of Bob Marley – Rocky Dawuni’s infectious, sing-along sixth album, Branches of the Same Tree, (Cumbancha) was nominated for a GRAMMY for “Best Reggae Album” (2015) featuring the Afro Dancehall mashup “African Thriller”and its striking accompanying video. “Branches” continues to bring him an even wider international audience with the recent release of his “Shine A Lightvideo which is a welcome bit of joy in these troubled times. Reflecting his maturity as an artist, the album highlights Dawuni’s ability to communicate a universal, uplifting message that crosses borders and reaches out to the hearts of millions.

LISTEN: Afrobeats singer Pam releases ‘Bobo’ Prod. by Pee GH

576 Muzik signed Afrobeats songstress, Pam has released her first official song to invigorate the year 2018.

The single is titled “Bobo” – a party anthem and danceable tune with a Ghanaian and Nigerian flavour.

The multi-genre female songstress in an Afrobeats production with a francophone feel like that of Awilo Logomba and a well-composed lyrics to felicitate the song.

It was produced by “Koko” hitmaker, Pee GH.

AYAT enlists Edem for IDKY remix – LISTEN!

Produced by KaySo, the remix for rapper Ayat’s IDKY features veteran hiphop act Edem.

Acronym for “I Don’t Know You”, the joint is essentially what brought him to the limelight some two years ago. Since that offering, he has gone on to release several other songs and the ZAMANI EP, and curated multiple editions of of the annual MADFest concert (which is held in homage of his native Madina).

Ayat and Edem have previously collaborated on the remix of the latter’s “Egboame”.

#JamesonTakeOverGH: Worlasi named for 2018 edition

For the third year running, singer Worlasi has been announced for the annual “Jameson Takeover GH” hangout session.

This year’s edition is slated for the Champs Sports Bar on January 27 from 7 pm, will see the 2017 Coke Studio Africa housemate perform songs off his latest EP Outerlane, as well as his mixtapes Uncut and NUSE.

Via a promo video on the artist’s social media handles, he promises the biggest night so far. Considering his  growing clout over the years, as well as his charismatic stagecraft, a truly memorable night can be expected.

Worlasi is signed to CM Records, and has been associated with esteemed colleagues as Sarkodie, M.anifest,  Da’Hammer, Sena Dagadu among others.

“The Green Experience” With Deon Boakye Slated for African Regent, JANUARY 26!

Budding singer Deon Boakye, will on Friday January 26, stage a live musical performance at the African Regent Hotel in Accra dubbed “The Green Experience”.

Deon’s career has been on the rise since debuting his solo hit single ‘Allewa’ (featuring Cabum). That was followed with other singles like Dubai, New Year and Babiaa Awu.

He will be performing songs off his recent Green album which was outdoored in September last year.

The HardBoy Music Group artiste, noted for his lively and stage craft, will be joined by the World League Band, a unique group that blends multiple genres like highlife, Afrobeats and jazz, as he performs joints off the album as “Ooosh”, “Yellow Sisi” and “Genevieve”.

Speaking in a recent interview regarding the Green LP, Deon explains that the project is “a symbol of fertility, happiness and progress toward attaining your goals.”

The 2017 VGMA unsung nominee since bursting onto the music scene has been consistent and has enjoyed massive coverage in the media for his exceptional vocals and composition of songs which led to his nomination for the unsung category in the VGMA’s.

Consisting 17 tracks, the Green LP features Strongman, Cabum, Medikal, Joel Orleans, Cabum, FlowKing Stone, Akitiwrowro, Kofi Kinaata, Eno, Jason EL-A and a host of others.

According to organizers of the event, ZoneThree6, the Green Experience will be an opportunity for the general public and fans to have a first-time experience with Deon performing live.

Patapaa HEADLINES 3 -Day Concert in Liberia

“One Corner” hitmaker Patapaa Amisty will headline a three-day concert in Liberia from January 19 – January 21.

Put together by Havana Lodge & Executive Inn, the marathon will see the Swedru- native rock the West African nation alongside rapper Stay Jay, and a host of Liberian acts including Soul Fresh, Nuchie Meek, Revoluxon, Eric Geso, and Teddy Ride.

“One Corner” proved to be the biggest song in Ghana in 2017, and hugely influential across the sub-region, earning Patapaa widespread acclaim, and an appearance on many stages in Ghana, and neighbouring Nigeria.

Produced by Morgan Beat, “One Corner” shot to nationwide prominence along with its accompanying dance after Patapaa first performed it at the Akwambo Festival in the Central Region sometime in 2017.
