2nd Quarter GeoPoll numbers announced…U TV most watched station

Despite Group’s U TV has beaten Adom TV to become the most watched TV station in Ghana, averaging 18.8% of the total audience share. This is according to numbers published by GeoPoll  for the second quarter of this year.

Among the largest providers of overnight audience measurement data on the continent, GeoPoll’s survey sees Adom TV drop to Number 3, behind Accra -based TV3 in the list of most patronised TV stations in the capital.

Sister- station Peace FM also tops the list of most listened- to stations in Accra, followed by  Adom FM, Joy FM, Citi FM, Vision 1FM, and a host of others.

CITI FM’s Richard Sky takes two-year break from radio to study LAW

CITI FM’s Richard Dela Sky is taking a break from mainstream radio to pursue further studies. Sky, one of the most notable names on the 97.3 dial is going back to school.

The respected journalist is enrolling at the UK’s University of Birmingham for a two-year course in Law. Sky was on the station’s well listened-to Breakfast Show on Monday to announce his exit.

A valuable asset for the Adabraka station, he has been part of the successful CITI story, envied by competitors. He has hosted a number of shows on the station including Eye Witness News.

Before joining CITI FM, Sky worked with the Statesman newspaper under Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.

Regina Krave is the new host of Live FM’s Touchdown effective Feb. 1

Fast-rising media personality and Actress Regina Krave is the new host of Live FM’s after drive show Touchdown effective February 1st Enewsgh can confirm.

Previously, Touchdown was hosted by Berla Mundi, who now co-hosts Starr FM’s Afternoon Show Starr Drive with Giovani Caleb.

Regina is currently one of Ghana’s favourite and adorable daughters of the screens. A host of Rythmzlive on GHone TV which shows from 1:30 pm – 3 pm and Live FM’s Young, wild and free. She had a stint with Ghana’s entertainment industry after taking part in Miss Malaika pageant. Currently, she is one of Ghana’s showbiz personalities with a lot of followers on social media.

LIVE 91.9 FM is owned by Africa’s leading media group EIB Network, who are also owners of Starr FM, GH One TV, Kasapa FM, Ultimate FM, Empire FM, Agoo FM, Agoo TV, and the Daily Heritage Newspaper.

Sammy Forson quits Live FM … heading to Joy FM

Live FM’s mid-morning show host, Sammy Forson, has left the station. He hosted his last show today.

Forson has joined the Kwasi Twum-owned JOY FM.

His first job with The Multimedia Group will be as sit-in host of Drive Time from Tuesday, January 16 as current host Lexis Bill goes on two weeks’ break. The station will announce other shows he will be hosting soon.

Apart from Live FM, Mr Forson has had stints with YFM, ETV, Citi FM, and Garden City Radio.

Berla Mundi named for Starr Drive

Following a recent UN appointment, Starr Drive co-host Anita Erskine is set to relinquish her post at the EIB station.

Inside sources submit to ENEWSGH  that Live FM and GH One’s Berla Mundi is being considered as replacement. Flagship programme for the popular radio station, it was previously manned by Erskine and CEO Bola Ray, before he handed the baton to protege Giovanni Caleb.

The pairing promises to be interesting as it will see Giovanni reunite with his MTN Hitmaker co- MC. The pair have fostered strong chemistry during their time compering the reality show, and the reunion should serve as an interesting extension of their on-screen telepathy.

Ambassador for beverage giants Malta Guiness, Berla Mundi currently anchors ‘The Afternoon Show’ on GH One TV, as well as  ‘Touchdown’ on Live 91.9FM. She also comperes other shows as Miss Malaika, and the MTN Hitmaker talent show.

Josh Tigo joins Multimedia!

Multimedia Ghana Limited (MGL) has just added to her rich stock of talents by poaching one of the finest journalistic brains in Ghana – Joshua Tigo.

Inside sources in Ghana’s leading conglomerate disclose that the one-time student leader’s place in the company is almost a done deal.

The sources also disclose that Joshua Tigo will be made editor of adomonline.com, one of the Multimedia Group’s online platforms, with the responsibility of making the platform rival other leading online news portals in Ghana and beyond.

Until his appointment, Joshua Tigo was a Senior Public Relations Assistant at Accra Technical University.

He is, however best known for his journalistic works at The Finder newspaper where he worked as one of the pioneer reporters before later helping to set up the paper’s sports version – Finder Sports and became its Deputy Editor.

While with the Finder, he wrote as a columnist, writing the column, “In My Dreams” but was also known for his hard-hitting investigative pieces.

Joshua Tigo has also worked as a reporter for Sky Digital Television and host of other media houses as an intern.

The man who majored in journalism with a 1st Class from the Ghana Institute of Journalism is also a trained teacher with several years of teaching experience on his side.

He is also a product of Rhodes University of South Africa’s Spring School for Future Journalists.

Joshua Tigo who is also known for his shrewd and strategic thinking has served on a number of Committees including being the secretary to the Media Committee of the West Africa Polytechnic Games Association’s Local Organising Committee in 2015.

Josh Tigo recruitment follows several high profile recruitments by the MGL including Naa Ashorkor who was poached from the EIB Group.

Ghana DJ Awards Best Video Jockey for 3 consecutive years and Ghone TV’s VJ, DJ Xpliph has finally dropped the cover art to his highly anticipated “Xtape V”, primed for release early this year.

The tape comprises different genres of music across the world guaranteed to get you snapping your thumbs, nodding your head and stomping your feet. It is a blend of all the 2017 afrobeat hit songs that have contributed in selling the African music on the world market.

According to Da Absurdist, X tape V will be 80% Gh Video, poised to promote n project Ghana to the world.

Dj Xpliph Xtape mixtape series is a video mixtape release biannual by the host of the VJ Mix on Gh One TV.

Dj Xpliph started off playing campus events, then eventually found himself as a regular at Aphrodisiac Night Club. He started working on a radio (VibeFMm) in 2010 with a weekly Saturday night show; Party Mix with Summ.

In 2011 (4 years after realising his passion), Dj Xpliph started mixing videos. He then moved to live fm in 2012 and  then to Adinkra radio in 2014.

He started working with Gh One tv as a Vj on Rhythmz Tv in 2013.  In that year he was nominated for the Ghana dj Awards for the Best video jockey of the year but did not win, he was nominated again the following year and he won it.

Raphael Osei Duah, known in real life is a graduate of the University of Ghana where he read Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in radio and television production.
