Desmond Lamptey, host of Country on Class, has been nominated in three categories for the Ghana Peace Awards.

The categories include: Community Spirit Peace Award, Humanitarian Peace Award and Services Peace Award.

The Ghana Peace Awards has honoured President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Kingsford Sumani Alban Bagbin and Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, among others, in the past.

Rev Prof Emmanuel Nash, Project Manager of Ghana Peace Awards said Mr Lamptey popularly known as the Smooth Operator, was selected for seeking the welfare of humanity, promoting Ghana, Africa and the world and that “over the years you have shown outstanding care, compassion, kindness, sacrifice and commitment for the well-being of others worldwide”.

Rev Nash further indicated that Mr Lamptey “has created and fostered peace in the hearts of people in Ghana, Africa and worldwide which has been recognised as extraordinary”.

The event recognises the leadership impact of individuals and organisations that have made outstanding difference in society.

This year’s event is under the theme, “A Peaceful Ghana; One people – working together”. It will be held on 28th October 2017 at the State Banquet Hall at 5pm.
