Veteran highlife singer George Jahraa has hinted at a return to mainstream music prominence in coming months.
Citing health challenges as the reason for his significant hiatus from the music scene, he has assured in a recent radio interview that his fans an expect new material as “something is in the pipeline”.
Known for such widespread anthems as Driver Banza, Ashikele, Asor among others, George Jahraa (born Kwame Ekumfi-Ameyaw) hails from Tamale in Northern Ghana, and announced his debut album in 1990. He has since followed it up with masterpieces as Awaree-nika-boka (1993), Alanga-Adjoa (1999), Asekele (2004), and Dedeedee (2008).
