Ghana’s poetic scene received a major boost over the weekend at the maiden #SpitBarsandPoetry event, held at the Tesano Baptist Church.

The atmosphere staged over twenty poetic-gods and wordsmiths such as Nana Asaase, Safo Menaye Akua, Mysnova, Neimatu, Gabla, Abotre, Asford Psalms, Nana Kissi, Neimatu, Cobby D’Poet, 100 percent and Papa Arkhurst, with Class FM’s Natalia Nana Ama Andoh as MC.

The spectacular evening of poetry and spokenword had patrons treated to mesmerizing poetic-buffet, outstanding choral music and choreography dance performances by the WitsHarmonic Choir Gh and Survivors for Christ.

Manager and Press Agent at Crabbita Media Consult and Organizer of the SpitBarsandPoetry event, Nathaniel Crabbe opined “this would be a yearly event aimed at addressing salient social issues affecting women and the girl-child including violence against women, child rape, female genital mutilation, Trokisi” among others via the arts of poetry and spoken word.

The event was sponsored by Drink StationGH,  Van Set Male-Grooming, Godly Favoured Opticals among others.
