Ghanaian singer King Ayisoba treated patrons at the just ended B-Sides Festival in Switzerland to over 20 records from his excellent catalogue of traditional masterpieces.
Spearheading his Kologo Band, and performing for over an hour, he rendered such timeless songs as Poka, I Want to See My Father,Wicked Leaders, My Friend My Friend, Take Go Where You Like, Africa,Mbee, and The Whole World”.
Among the country’s most authentic musical exports, he performed alongside esteemed global colleagues as Ghanaian compatriot Ata KAK, Silberen, Body Ready ( both from Switzerland) ,Jeremy Wade,The Battlefield Nurse (UK), as well as Moon Duo (USA).
Born in Bolgatanga, King Ayisoba has always been passionate about the ills of society. His I Want To See You, My Father ( which earned him Song of the Year and Traditional Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards in 2013) mocks irresponsible men.
