The list of categories to be awarded has been announced by organisers of the maiden Ghana Event Awards. Laurels will be given in categories as Best Event Setup, Event of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Event Company of the Year, and Event MC of the Year (male and female categories).
The others include Best Event Photography, Event Sponsor if the Year, Best Supporting Product, as well as Ghana’s favourite Event.
Organisers indicate the scheme, which is guided by “strict ongoing industry consultation” will “answer the need for cohesiveness across the entire Ghanaian Events industry, enveloping and reinforcing industry identity and development of opportunities between events and events discipline”.
It is also open to all Ghanaian events, event managers, and support service providers regardless of such characteristics as audience size, location, and so in. Only nominations wishing the year under review (2016) will be considered.
Put together by Event Guide Magazine, the scheme looks to “recognise, honour and celebrate various indigenous Ghanaian events and organisers who set the pace for excellence in event management across the country”. It is supported by African Regent Hotel,NINETEEN57 BY KOD, Dirt Entertainment, White Carpet Events, Mr Candy, Flash Africa among others.
