The Ghanaian entertainment industry is one that keeps evolving and expanding as the years go by, and because of this, we keep seeing new faces from time to time. The music industry which seems to be the pivotal branch of our entertainment and arts industry has been blessed with several talents, especially in this first quarter of the year:

The Madina-based rapper has been on a high ever since he finally broke through the entertainment industry last year. He’s authored several songs including the monstrous collaboration with Sarkodie christened Dodo. He began his year releasing several songs ahead of his debut EP. The project which has 10 songs on it featured only Sarkodie and Ria Boss, with production from Kayso , Magnom, Kuvie and nrthxw . Ever since the release, Play for Keeps (one of the songs on the project) has reached over 9,000 plays on Soundcloud. He has also released several videos including Forget Everybody featuring Medikal and also the intro to the EP Iron Boy –all directed by KTO. He is also set to drop the visuals for Play for Keeps in coming weeks.

Currently signed unto Lynx entertainment, Kaumi has probably had the best quarter after having won the Unsung category at this year’s VGMA, which saw him give an extraordinary performance during the main show. He has worked with Dj Vyrusky on a song titled Number alongside sensational rapper Kojo Cue. He also mounted very big platforms including this year’s Ghana Music Honors.

The Tema-based rapper, who is most popular for several videos released on YouTube which saw him give awesome covers of some songs. The year has been really good for Kwesi aside getting big endorsement from Sarkcess music label CEO Sarkodie and also a session with the nation’s best rapper Manifest . He also released his debut EP Live From Nkrumah Krom which is doing very well online.

Bonah is another Tema-based rapper who is currently signed unto Mimlife records. He got his big break this year after releasing Dear God, an inspirational Hiphop jam which topped Live FM’s Top 10 for several weeks. He then released another rap tune christened Wake Up alongside singer Kelvin Bwoy. He also got a massive endorsement from multiple awards winning rapper Sarkodie. Bonah also got the opportunity to perform alongside top musicians like Shatta Wale, Edem and FlowKing Stone in Kumasi during 06 Empire launch. He is set to release the visuals for Dear God in coming weeks.
5.
The young sensational Dancehall Diva has had very good and positive start to 2017. Aside gaining multiple nominations at this year’s VGMA, Ebony has become the hottest female dancehall artiste currently in the country. After putting out Poison which has risen to become Number one on several music charts across the country, Ebony has performed on several stages across the country.
