Ghanaian reggae star and broadcaster Blakk Rasta will host several high-profile colleagues in the 2017 edition of his annual Kuchoko Roots Festival slated for Sunday May 21.
A celebration of Ghana’s contribution to the island music genre, it comes off at the Laboma Beach Resort from 12 pm, and features guest appearances from singer Yasmeen, Oge Kimono, Takana Zion, Ismael Isaac, and Daddy Bosco.
Other acts lined up for the concert are Osagyefo, Prex Khex, Felix Jah Know, Ras Boumba, Redfyah, and Knii Lante.
Born Abubakar Ahmed in Tamale in September 1974, Blakk Rasta is also very popular as for hosting “Taxi Driver”, on Accra-based Hitz FM. His latest album Kuchoko Revolution (containing the hit single Serwaa Akoto) is out now.
