Ghanaian Afro-pop, hip-hop and R&B artist A.I has expressed his feelings towards not winning Afropop Song of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
According to him, he was highly expectant of the awards; nonetheless, he’s happy to be nominated at all. Speaking with Kwesi Dope on The Brunch on Spyderlee Entertainment TV on Tuesday morning, the ‘Anger Management’ crooner explained that on the night of the awards, he really looked forward to seeing the song pick up the laurel.
He further added that, if he had not won it, he was expecting Joey B’s U& Me to clinch that award because that song was also a hit.
A.I went on to reiterate his disappointment about not winning but was hopeful because according to him, the category is “Afropop Song of the Year” and not “Afropop song of a Lifetime’.
Born Emmanuel Kwadwo Ayisi Oware, A.I is signed on to 2Ligit record label, and lost to BBNZ rapper EL for the latter’s Kaa Bu Ame.
