A powerful  highlife medley by the National Symphony Orchestra served as opening act for the 18th annual Ghana Music Awards, which got off to a late start due to technical challenges.

In honour of the country’s diamond jubilee celebration, the set took patrons down memory lane thorough some of our highlife classics.

The performance was unfortunately cut short due to recurring technical hitches. Organisers are working tirelessly to get the show running again.

Compered by Starr FM’s Anita Erskine, it will see deserving Ghanaian and international acts walk home with laurels across various categories.

#VGMA2017 is produced by Charterhouse Ghana, and has Vodafone Ghana as headline sponsor. EL, MzVee, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Joe Mettle, and Medikal are all in the running for the coveted Artist of the Year award.
