Titled The Psalmist Creed, emerging poet Asford Psalms’ weekly poetry column consists selected poems from his yet-to-be-released debut collection. Here is Redemption:
Someday we are all lost
Lost from the path of truth and light.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost to the path of a falsehood life.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost from the path of God and right.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost to the path of the gods at sight.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost from the path of love and life.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost from the path of peace to rife.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost to the path of the evil of the night.
Someday we are all lost.
Lost to everything or something; in and out of sight or what feels right.
But other days we are found.
Found on the path of redemption.
And there are many paths to redemption.
Not all are clear, not all is fair.
Not all is smooth.
Some comes with the truth.
But at least, there is a chance and a choice to choose the path of truth.
