Sobolo singer Six Strings, born Foster Enoch Doe, has credited colleague Worlasi (with whom he has regularly collaborated) for introducing him to the “studio”. He revealed this to ENEWSGH minutes before a stunning performance at the Jameson Takeover event which came off last Saturday, March 18.
“If you follow my style of music, I’m always with my guitar. I would say Worlasi introduced me to the studio thing. I’ve always been a live performer: I play my guitar, and I sing”, he said, describing it as his “core” and what connects him to people.
And connect he did, as his spellbinding acoustic rendition of Runtown’s Mad Over You continued to receive reverberant applause long after he finished performing the song.
Six Strings is perhaps, most known for the affective tunes Just Like Daddy and Sobolo. He names the likes of Bob Marley, Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Asa as among his major influences.
Speaking on what messages are central to his music, he stressed that his ambition is to tell everyday stories of life, hope and purpose.
