In 2007, William Ramzy Amui, a f finalist of CharterHouse’s Stars of the Future singing contest was convicted on charges of conspiracy, armed robbery and dishonesty. It cost him a decade of his freedom.
He was reportedly freed from the Nsawam Maximum Prison last Thursday, after serving half of his original sentence, where he kept at singing and even performed for President Mahama in 2015.
He was scheduled for M-net’s West Africa Idol contest in Nigeria in 2007, but was arrested before he could make the trip. Originally an R&B crooner, Ramzy has reportedly turned to singing gospel full time.
