Dancehall singer Charles Nii Armah Mensah (better known by his stagename Shatta Wale), yesterday took to the ruling National Democratic Congress’ ultimate campaign rally ahead of tomorrow’s elections with a surprise performance which sent the Accra sports stadium haywire.

Performing hit singles including Chop Kiss, Mahama Paper, and Kpuu Kpaa, he sure brought to the well-attended event extra-headline quality as minutes into his performance, he was among top trends on social media portal Twitter.

This is not the singer’s firs t performance on an NDC platform. Back in October, he performed at the campaign launch of the Roads and Highways minister Inusah Fuseini in Tamale. He  has however, not openly declared support for any political party.

Management of Shatta Wale explained in a press statement after his Tamale performance that his decision to mount campaign platforms was that they provided him to emphasise the ned for a peaceful election. This is in lin with his Shatta4Peace advocacy campaign launched earlier this year.
