Ghanaian Hollywood star Abraham Attah, best known for playing Agu in the award-winning Beast of No Nation, over the weekend, received the award of  Best Actor (Narrative) award for his role in ‘Out of The Village’ , a compelling story about children orphaned by the recent Ebola epidemic which hit parts of the continent.

Aside receiving this Tacoma Film Festival (TFF) award, Out of The Village was also adjudged  ‘Best International Short Film’ at the Foyle Film Festival 2015.

Abraham Attah shot to global prominence with his gripping performance in the movie adaptation of Uzodinma Iweala’s novel, Beast of No Nation, alongside Luther star, Idris Elba. In the movie, he plays Agu, a child soldier in a war-torn African country.Beast of No Nation, which is also the 15 year old’s first ever role, has won him several international awards including the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead and National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
