Rapper EL, and dancehall singer MzVee are the latest Ghanaians to bag nominations at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards ( MAMAs).

EL, who is reigning VGMA Artist of the Year, was nominated in the Listener’s Choice category, and will look to fight off competition from Kiss Daniel, Burna Boy among others for the award.

MzVee was nominated for Best Female, one of the most highly rated categories alongside Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alalde, Josey, and Vanessa.

This year’s MAMAs comes off Saturday October 22 at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg. It will be hosted by comedian and TV host Trevor Noah, and American singer Future has been announced as headlining act.
