Poet and playwright Chief Moomen has announced the second play in his Heritage Theatre Series. WogbeJeke: The Tale of Two Men, which explores Ghana’s independence struggle through the perspectives of founders J. B Danquah and Kwame Nkrumah.
The show is backed by a 120-strong team which make up cast and crew. Directed by by Abdul Karim Hakib and Anima Misa Amoah, the show is scheduled for the National Theatre September 25 at 4pm and 8pm, and will be repeated at the Drama Studio of the University of Ghana October 6 to October 9.
The first play in the series, WogbeJeke: The Birth OF A Nation (2015) was staged to wide praise for its masterful fusion of drama, music and poetry. Support from such trusted brands as Keysoap, IDEC and Citi FM is testament to the quality of the project.
Organizers have promised patrons both a thrilling and memorable show Sunday night. Tickets cost GHC¢ 60.
