The launch of annual Storymoja Festival, which is being held in Ghana in honour of late Professor Kofi Awoonor, was attended by such top Ghanaian and international personalities as Dr. Auma Obama, publisher Chief Dele Momoudo, Deputy Minister for Education Okudjeto Ablakwah, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Creative Arts Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, as well as Speaker of Parliament Hon. Doe Adjaho.

Others include Second Lady Mrs Matilda Amissah Arthur, poet Nana Asaase, and actor John Dumelo. The glamorous event, held at the plush Kempinsky Gold Coast Hotel-Accra, kicked-started a four-day event to celebrate African literature.  The rest of the proogramme, including a press launch, is scheduled for the Dubois Center, Accra.

Usually held in Kenya, the  Storymoja Festival is among the continent’s foremost hubs for discussion around African literature and creativity, and is being held in Ghana in honor of  late Ghanaian literary icon Kofi Awoonor, who was killed in terrorist attacks during the 2013 event.
