When Mzbel hosted her Red Carpet show in February this year to celebrate a decade in the music industry, she said the concert was to welcome her back to the industry after a short break and it seems the 16 Years hit maker is back for real.

While Paa Kwesi sings about how dependable Ekua, his lover, can be in times of difficulties, Mzbel also comes to rap about how she is lucky to have a man like Paa Kwesi who loves to sing her praises.
Paa Kwesi goes on to advise men to appreciate and honour their women when they play their roles well. He brags about how he is lucky to have found a woman of Ekua’s calibre.
Perhaps, one flaw about the song was Mzbel’s rap delivery which was just ordinary and not with much style considering that rap has become a competitive aspect of the Ghanaian music scene today.
When Showbiz spoke with Mzbel on Tuesday, she dismissed the perception that Ekua was her first highlife song.
“Highlife was one of the first genres that I did when I came on the music scene. African Boy, a song on my first album was highlife so I don’t think that I am new to highlife. Sometimes, it is good to go back to your roots,” she stated.
Apart from Awoso Me, Mzbel has 16 Years, Edey Be and Kiss Me, as albums to her credit.
