The tourism authority of South Africa has sponsored a group of Ghanaian and Nigerian travel and tourism industry professionals to tour and experience some selected tourism destination in the southern African country.

The hosting of this group from the West African countries is an effort by South African Tourism to give them first-hand experience of what the country can offer to those who would like to travel to South Africa.

South Africa is the preferred tourism destination for patrons across the globe. The World Travel & Tourism Council claims that the tourism industry directly contributed ZAR 102 billion to South African GDP in 2012, and supports 10.3% of jobs in the country. South Africa offers both domestic and international tourists an impressive array of spots, such as the natural landscape and game reserves, rich cultural heritage and special wines. Among popular destinations are the Kruger National ParkĀ  north of the country, the coastlines and beaches of the KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape provinces, andĀ  cities like Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.
