Rapper Gasmilla, has announced final funeral rites for his father Frank Nii Lantey Lamptey, who passed June 9 after a brief illness. Mr Lamptey will be laid in state on August 26. The funeral proper comes off  the August 27, and then a thanksgiving service Sunday morning.

Eulogising his father in a radio interview Wednesday morning, Gasmilla revealed that his father has been an immense influence on hi life and career.

“I still talk about him and live by his principles and morals so I don’t think that it will get any easier but we have to move on and believe that all the good things he wished that we could do, we will achieve it and make him proud wherever he is”

Born Odartei Milla Lamptey, Gasmilla’s big break came with such hits as “Aboodatoi” and “Telemo“. To him, his father’s death won’t him fully till he sees his body during the laying in state.
