Young Movie Director Kofi Awuah  says his new series Shatta TV will replace the current influence of foreign soap operas  like Veera and Kumkum Bhagya in the country.

Kofi Awuah who disclosed this at a press soiree to unveil the cast at The Chop Bar restaurant in Accra over the weekend.

Shatta TV series stars both old and new faces in showbiz including  Strika of “Beast of No Nation” fame, Deborah Vanessa, veteran actress Belinda Oku (Adwoa Smart), Roselyn Ngissah, rapper Medikal, Katie Emerson (one of U.K’s celebrated actresses), Yaa Baby, Two Thoozin, Too Much, and a host of other famous personalities.

The director who has been behind a lot of productions like Amakye and Dede ,Cocoa Brown said he sought the consent of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale before using the brand name ‘Shatta’ for the productions .

The press soiree was hosted by hiplife Artiste Nana Appiah (Kontihene ) .
