Singer Samini has released visuals to a latest single, Kariyaa.

The word means “Lie” in Hausa, and takes digs at imposters and the like. Because this is Samini, one is tempted to conclude that it may be directed at a certain Shatta Wale, with whom he has had a longstanding beef, but Kariyaa appears to send a general message, at least at initial listen.

Youth who speak Hausa are an important demographic of the High Grade Family frontman’s following. Kariyaa, sung largely in the language, obviously is purposed at entrenching support in locations where Hausa is largely spoken, Nima being most prominent.

This racy anthem was produced by constant collaborator Brainy Beatz, and the accompanying video directed by young director Prince Dovlo. Watch the video here:
