Ghanaian singer Wiyaala will be in the UK July 29 for this year’s Womad International Arts Festival, where she will also cook an indigenous dish for patrons.

She has indicated that she will be cooking Tuo Zaafi and groundnut soup earlier in the day, and is thrilled at the opportunity to sell Ghana’s culture in that way:

“I’ll be cooking TZ and Groundnut Stew with chicken. Luckily the Taste The World people at Womad are going to be helping me prepare the dish while I’m talking to the audience about our wonderful Ghanaian food.”

Highlife legend Pat Thomas and his Kwasibu Area Band will also perform at the a-list event.

Wiyaala will also be present at the Voices of the Revolution tour this August. She is also set to appear at POP Brixton, Ronnie Scotts, Shambala Festival, Festival Number 6 and the Freedom Festival.
