Live FM presenter, Jay Foley has, in a telephone interview with Starr FM’s Nii Ayi-Tagoe, maintained that Ghanaian singer MzVee is optimistic of a BET win, albeit a bit nervous too.

Jay Foley, who is currently in the US covering the event for Live FM Ghana, also states that MzVee is in high spirits, and her excitement will not be clouded should she lose out on the award.

He explains that the nomination alone means a lot to the Bokor Bokor singer.

Asked what MzVee’s chances are at the event, Foley mentions that they are fair, and she can spring a surprise Sunday night, as nobody really knows what the award scheme looks out for in artists.

MzVee will have to surmount significant competition from such African stars at Nigeria’s Wizkid and South Africa’s AKA, as well as Casper Nyovest.

At 24, MzVee is not just Ghana’s first female nominee at the BET Awards, but also the youngest yet.

The BET Awards 2016 comes on Sunday June 26, as the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles.
