British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin’s tweets always sting –for peasant reasons or otherwise. An April tweet to TV/ radio personality Nana Aba Anamoah, for instance, suggests his “special interest” in correcting her “spelling, syntax and grammar” after she tweeted about his darling West Ham United.
She had tweeted her disappointment: “West Ham dey worry” after a 2-2 tie with league champions Leicester City.
Mr Benjamin’s response to her, “No @thenanaaba the only thing we’re worried about is the spelling, syntax and grammar in some of your tweets!”, startled Ghanaians at the very least.
He has tweeted at her again, on the occasion of her birthday, and aside good wishes, he also nurses optimism that she swaps allegiances to West Ham, the same team for which she got a “schooling” from him.
“A very happy birthday to @thenanaaba –now she’s reached 21, I hope she swaps her #MUFC for a serious team like West Ham United”, he tweeted Sunday Morning.
